Sincerity
Meaningful relationships are at the core of my 4 Keys to Success in Life and Leadership. Sincerity is critical to building these relationships. It’s about being genuine in your interactions as you build relationships on a mutual like and/or, trust and/or, respect for one another. I used “and/or” purposefully, because achieving all three in a relationship is nice, but it may not happen. You definitely don’t start off with all three; however, if you can achieve one, you can eventually get there. If you only ever achieve one of the three you can still be successful. So, the next time you ask someone how they are doing, do it from a place of genuine concern about them and their well-being. I typically ask, “what’s going on with you?” or “what are you working on?” because I sincerely care about the other person and am looking for ways I can serve them.
