Crossroads

“No man is more unhappy than he who never faces adversity. For he is not permitted to prove himself” ~ Seneca

You can always choose the easy road until that road runs out or until you end at a crossroad where the easy road and hard road intersect again. You can again choose the easy road to avoid facing adversity once more (so you think). Who have you cheated by taking the easy road? What have you gained?

You know what you didn’t read in Seneca’s quote? He didn’t say – No man is more unhappy than he who is never allowed to face adversity. Seneca didn’t say – For he is not permitted by friends, family, co-workers, bosses, or enemies to prove himself. He didn’t say it because it is all on you! Sure, you may not always get to decide when adversity will show up, but when you reach the crossroad, you get to decide which road you will take.

Will you take the easy road? Or will your journey end there? Or will you choose the hard road and face adversity head-on? Will you Pursue Hard Things!?
